This is my story.
About Us
Life is given in order to worship,
Life without worship is shameful.
The way of love is unlike all other ways,
The creed of lovers is distinct from all other creeds.
He who is the lover of the beauty of Allah
Is the leader of all creation.
So what if the enamoured one is insane in the love of Allah?
Look and you shall find the whole world His admirer.
My Beloved is such that there is no beloved besides Him,
Nor is there place in my heart for any other.
My Beloved may be hidden from my sight,
But He is not absent from my heart.

(Excerpts from his book, “Love for Allah”)
As an avid reader, I often lamented over the inadequacy of good Islamic books in Aotearoa New Zealand. Due to expensive international shipping from overseas Islamic bookstores, I usually faced the dilemma over the choice of books to order. If not for financial constraints, I would have desired to purchase and consume as many books as I could across various Islamic fields. But compromises had to be made.
Upon much deliberation over this predicament faced by myself and like-minded brothers and sisters, the idea of “Maḥabbah Books” penetrated my heart until it occupied my thoughts, and I finally realized it was part of my destiny as decreed by my Rabb. I decided that I must endeavour to provide a local Kiwi online avenue for authentic Islamic books authored by reputed reliable knowledgeable scholars. It is my hope that Allah enables and facilitates this as “ṣadaqah jariyah” for myself and my offspring until the day of judgment.
Maḥabbah Books is registered as a company, but operates on the not-for-profit enterprise model.
As one of our pious elders, Imam Shibli رحمة الله عليه said, “Maḥabbah (love) is called maḥabbah because it erases everything from the heart except the Beloved.”
May these beautiful precious books become a means of increasing our maḥabbah for Allah تعالى and His beloved - Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, the Quran, this beautiful deen of Islam, the shariah, the sunnah of our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم, and every person and every deed beloved to Allah.
